How to apply for Admission (M.S. or Ph.D.)

To apply for admission, you need to submit a set of items to the Graduate School and another set to the Department. Please check out the options given below:


 

Items to be submitted to the Graduate School

Submit the following items to The Graduate School at:

Graduate Admissions and Records

  1. Completed "Graduate Application for Admission".

    Apply online (preferred method).

    The application may be found inside the front cover of the print version of the Graduate Catalog or in the Admission Guide. (Request information by e-mail).

    It may also be requested by e-mailing a request to gsinfo@utk.edu.

    It may be obtained by downloading the .pdf version of the application, printing it out on a laser-quality printer, and mailing it to The Graduate School.

  2. A $35 (US) non-refundable application fee.

  3. One official transcript from ALL colleges and universities attended.

  4. Official scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), General Test.

  5. Official scores from the Test Of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) if native language is not English.

  1. Completed "Applicant Information Form" (see also #3, below).
    Document is in .pdf format Download .pdf version (129 kb)
    Document is in .wpd format Download WordPerfect version (224 kb)

  2. Three letters of reference or completed rating forms.

  3. In two pages or less (attach separate pages), describe your goals and reasons for pursuing a graduate degree in Food Science and Technology.
