2004 IFTSA Southeastern College Bowl Competition

The Food Science Club at UTK hosted the 2004 Institute of Food Technologists Student Association's (IFTSA) Southeastern Regional College Bowl competition Saturday, March 27th in 212 Brehm Animal Science Building.

The Food Science Club represented the Department of Food Science and Technology andl competed against four other universities: Virginia Tech, North Carolina State University, The University of Georgia, and The University of Florida.

The double elimination contested consists of twenty-question rounds testing the students' knowledge of food processing, food chemistry, food engineering, food microbiology, sensory evaluation and many other areas related to the food industry.

The University of Georgia is the champion of the 2004 IFTSA Southeastern Regional College Bowl Competition. The winner of this competition will advance to the national competition to face the five other regional champions at the Institute of Food Technologists annual meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada (July 12-16th).
